The easiest questions require students to set up an equation between two variables which are directly proportional. The hardest questions require pupils to set up an equation between x and y where y is inversely proportional to the cube of x (for example). In every question pupils will need to use their equation to find the value of y for a given value of x (or visa-versa). All the questions are purely algebraic but a contextual problem could be used as a nice plenary. This resource has been designed with the new 2017 GCSE curriculum in mind and is appropriate for a higher class.
