These Lent themed prayer booklet templates make a lovely activity for your children to think about the meaning of Lent and reflect on what is important to them. Children will write their prayer on one side of the template and decorate they other half. They can then cut the template out and fold it in half to make their Lent prayer booklet. This is a nice activity if you’re studying the Ten Commandments where the children will think of their own commandments that are relevant to their lives and write them onto the tablets. This activity can make a great display! In this resource there are two sheets. One where the children will think of 10 commandments, the other where they only need to think of 4 commandments. Teach sentence structure with this fun outdoor scavenger hunt. Each sentence is split into three parts. Simply hide the sentence cards around your outdoor area and get your class to collect the cards and create the sentences. Once they’ve created a sentence they can write it down on the differentiated sentence record sheets. This is a great activity for students to understand how to create a sentence and the key components of a sentence (subject, verb, and complete thought). This video comprehension is all about the wonderful world of compost. Your students will learn what compost is and how it works, the importance of composting, as well as what we can and can’t compost. This pack contains 3 levels of differentiation as well as an extension activity where they must write a persuasive letter. What is video comprehension? Our video comprehension series is designed to facilitate the learning of those students who find reading tricky. It allows them to access the same level of learning without the need to read large amounts of information. We have found it especially helpful with our SEN students. Each set is differentiated three times. With the first level of differentiation requiring them to simply circle the correct answers. These worksheets work best if each student has their own device as they can re-watch parts of the video to find the correct answers. However if you don’t have one device per students or pair we have done this with great success by having the video on repeat on the board / tv at the front of the classroom. Wild story telling is a great way to let your students’ imaginations run wild as they use natural items they find in your outdoor space to plan and tell their very own wild story. It’s perfect if you’re looking at descriptive language or as a stimulus before they begin to write down their own stories. For this activity they will head outside and collect 6 items that will be used within their story. These items could be imagined into anything from characters in their stories to powerful magical items. Encourage them to collect varied items as this will help when planning their stories. Once they’ve got their 6 items they can either tape or draw one item per box on the activity sheet. They must now think about what their item could be within their story. You can either get them to include the items in chronological order or allow them to use them randomly within the story. Once they’ve planned their story they can get into small groups and use their activity sheet and items to help them as they tell their wild story to others. This activity is designed to be done verbally while in your outdoor area. They can plan their stories either individually or in pairs. Who doesn’t love a treasure hunt!? This is a great activity for looking at compass bearings and use as well as instruction writing. For this lesson students will hide some treasure before writing instructions to get from the starting point to the treasure using compass bearings. This is a fun activity to get those imagination juices flowing as well as encouraging creative play and drama. Students will head outside and find themselves a stick. They must then use their imaginations to turn the stick into as many different things as possible… the possibilities are endless!
