Outstanding Science in a box

Average Rating4.49
(based on 34 reviews)

I specialise in general science resources for KS3 and KS4 and biology for KS5. I try to make my resources suitable for non-specialists and teachers new to the subject, by including answers to any questions and full step-by-step explanations. I love flashcards and try to make a set for each unit I deliver. I am in the process of upgrading these to colour coded (differentiated) sets. All newly added resources will have a remote-learning version too (just in case :-))

These are the lessons for the Activate 1 (New book) scheme of work. Each lesson has a powerpoint which guides you through the lesson. Most lessons are suitable for non-specialists as answers to any questions on the powerpoint are included. Starting activities are a mixture of literacy, numeracy and scientific thinking. Most lessons have ‘literacy support sheets’ for SEN students and those who struggle to write quickly. There are differentiated double-sided flashcards to prepare for end of unit tests. Chromatography lesson is not included as I did not create a new lesson for this but re-used a colleague’s lesson.

49 revision flashcards AQA physics Energy P1 differentiated GCSE including equations

This is a set of flashcards created for the Energy unit for AQA Physics. The flashcards are double-sided (flip on long edge), so the answer is on the reverse of each card, and are colour-coded with blue cards being the easiest, green mid-difficulty and red the most challenging. With my lowest ability groups I ask them to learn the blue cards as a minimum. My higher ability groups learn the blue cards first, then the green and red cards. There are also some ‘apply’ cards where students have to use their knowledge of the equations.

Here are 47 double-sided flashcards for the Inheritance and Variation unit (print double-sided, flip on long edge). Each question card has the answer on the back. I have colour coded the cards (blue easiest / green harder, red hardest) so you can differentiate by only setting certain coloured cards for different students, or by asking students to learn them in order (bluest first) so they learn the basic information first.
