Good as a case study for Brazil, as an introduction within development geography or, as it is used here as tourism (within geography). Has a number of different tasks for the students to complete that will create them a factfile. Briefly looks at what an earthquake is and then measuring the earthquake. Looks at the Mercalli scale.

Brief introduction to what a hurricane is, then looks at Hurricane Katrina. Students map the progress of Katrina and track it and then look at the effects. Worksheets attached. The sheet referred to on the first slide is just the question on the first slide.

Looks at the location of different biomes, different characteristics and then the students can design their own animal they think is suitable for these locations.

Looks at different uses of the tropical rainforest. Resources are also attached. Several different activities including argumentative pieces, plenary etc. Differentiated tasks for all abilities and further tasks. Gets them to look at whether they think the uses are positive or negative.

Geopolitics in relation to India's economic and political growth.

Looks at what ecotourism is as an introduction and then gives two examples of places in Kenya that they have to compare. Trip advisor sheets where they create their own reviews based on these ideas. Easily differentiated through what they put into it. All resources and information included.

Looks at different rock types and their location in the UK. (For edexcel GCSE geog B but can be used for others). Gets students to identify different rock types based on their factors but also map work an identifying different sections of rock across the UK. Exam questions factored in as well to get them used to answering them.

Briefly looks at what a developed and developing country is. Then the impacts of aid. Main task looks at the favelas in Brazil and the positive and negative implications of this. Use of videos (online) and other resources that are provided. Work and tasks are differentiated so students can attempt different levels.

Looking at the Kobe earthquake as the example, this looks at the different effects that earthquakes can have.

Designed for high level year 7/8 but also a good introduction for KS4. Looks at the different plates, structure of the earth and convection currents.

Looks at what the one child policy is, information and worksheets and an optional debate among the class.

Looking at threats to the biosphere. The lesson starter is to go over information about a case study. However, I have included this information so it would be possible to do that as part of the lesson starter.

Looks at an introduction to development and key terms. They can use this to create a board game. Resources are in the powerpoint including a worksheet. There are extra resources at the end of the powerpoint that could be used for higher ability.

Looking at demographic data in geography, differences between different levels of development.

Starter- What am I. Main activity- students making factfles about hurricanes. They can use textbooks, internet etc but the information is not included. However, there is a full sheet with tasks that must be included and detail given on how to do this.

They have to collect information (all resources are on the powerpoint) about concordant and discordant coastlines, types of rock (hard and soft), types of wave, erosional features. Works as also a revision of the topic of coasts and includes exam questions with ideas of how to answer it. Work as groups to complete the question.

4 and 6 figure grid references. Goes over how to do both with activites and then final dot to dot activity at the end that will create a dinosaur. Can be spread over two lessons but can also be done in one.
