Lecture, KS5 lesson, assembly, Drop-Down Day or GCSE+ for (able) KS4 pupils. Full lesson (1hr+) on power in political philosophy & how philosophers have approached power. This is a resource that can be used with a range of pupils and contexts but was produced to teach to the top (Y12 very able cohort in a University Preparation week). Aimed at AQA GCSE RE pupils but may also be useful for OCR and Edexcel and for Y9, Y10 or Y11 pupils. The worksheet states, with definitions, pro-life vs. pro-choice key terms and meanings. Students have arguments on each side and must use a key to sort the statements into pro-life or pro-choice. Works as independent activity or paired, and can be self-assessed or peer-marked for easy & quick AfL. Should take around 10 minutes, or longer if discussing in pairs or whole class.
