I have put together ‘mastery booklets’ that can be used for independent study for pupils to use after a section of the course has been covered. They are designed (with past paper questions and the answers) for the students to complete themselves. This is to help them gain a deeper knowledge without impacting on teacher workload. All the teacher needs to do is record when the students have completed and annotated the booklet. I have split the 7 sections into the topics for the paper 1 and the paper 2. I have put together a complete system of resources that will allow staff to easily record and monitor the required practical aspect of the new GCSE science that is replacing the old ISA coursework. The resources include Whole Class Practical Tracker, Pupil Cover Sheets for Each of the Practicals and an 'On-The-Day' Practical sheets (again one for each practical, for the teacher to use in class during the practical to record the Apparatus and Technique (AT) skills that each pupil has to be competent with. All of the resources compliment each other, use the key coding for assessment to reduce workload and make things easy. This is just the instructions with some screen shots to see what and how it works. I have mirrored the A'Level AQA Practical Assessment for the AQA GCSE, it just seemed logical so that the systems are similar. Since the declaration that GCSE Science pupils wont be able to use equations sheets in future exams, I have been thinking of a system that will help them learn the equations and help staff in facilitating that learning. I have devised this. It is supposed to be used as a starter / plenary for pupils to go over and over and try to implant the equations over time. I will use it in every lesson, parrot fashion for success! This is not board specific as they all will need to learn them, and can be used for the current legacy GCSE students too as a revision resource. This demo only has the questions for 'Resistance' questions, but you will get a good idea of what the paid product will be like. The GCSE PHYSICS Electricity Equations full can be found in my store. It has questions on Units Questions, Resistance (R=V/I), Power (P=E/t), More Power (P=IV), Even More Power (P=I^2 R), and Electrical Energy (E=VQ). There is another demo and full powerpoint on Energy Equations on my page. I have used the template for my ABCD cards for this endeavour, but you don't need those to utilise these PowerPoints. Enjoy.

This is a free demo of the 29 quick quizzes I have compiled for the AS AQA new Biology course. Each quiz has 10 questions of varying difficulty and then the answers. The paid version of the PowerPoint contains 29 quizzes spanning the whole AS course with questions and answers and an integrated results sheet to record the results from your class and a handy macro will rank them in order depending on their average through the quizzes. From the menu screen you can skip to any quiz and return back to the menu. Great for starters, plenaries and revision throughout the year. This demo will give you an idea of the quality of what you will get.

These are screen shots to explain the new GCSE grade 9-1 tracker. I have designed it so that it can be edited and changed so that it can be used in any subject. The sheet has space for 250 students to be housed. This sheet is your one stop place to track your GCSE class data. The sheet are 12 custom tests (which you can change the raw score and label) and 3 summative tests - these are collated to give an average and an old grade (A*-G) and the new GCSE grading system (9-1) along side each other AND the level of progress. The sheet will calculate the %, grades (old and new), averages and levels of progress.The tests are grouped into three sections (4 tests in each) so - science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or English (Written, Literature, Creative) etc. There are 3 Monitoring areas that you can record scores that go towards the whole school data - if this data is below the levels of progress then it will flag the possibility of intervention. Parts of the sheet are protected so that staff can only add their raw data and not accidentally enter where there are formulas that generate supplementary data. The sheet comes with instruction and the password to unlock locked areas of the sheet should you wish. The actual sheet can be purchased from my page.

This spreadsheet can be used to collate the ISA grades for Core, Additional, Biology, Chemistry and Physics ISA's. The sheet will calculate the grade achieved from the 2015 AQA grade boundaries. It will also do a count to show how many pupils have achieved A* - G in each piece. There is enough space for 250 pupils in the core and additional and 150 for the triple science. I have created an assessment analysis tool that can be used for any test up to 20 questions in length. The Excel sheet is primarily designed for science but could be redesigned for other subjects. A sheet is used to enter the year, title, question type, question marks and question description. All of these will be used to generate a report. The report will have individual information about a students progress in the test. The data generated will be - Total, %, Residual, Level (9-1), Levels of Progress and Progress label. Depending on how well students did for individual questions, the report will highlight which areas (where a student achieved 50% or less of the marks available) students need work on to get them to standard. The test is broken down into the individual science aspects so that staff, pupils and parents can be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of individuals so that areas can be addressed where the standard is below what is expected. I have attached the instructions for the sheet that shows how the sheet works and examples of the generated Mail Merge report. This sheet will not only inform staff, pupils and parents but save time for the staff and be an invaluable tool in identifying areas to help pupils reach their targets.

This is screen shots to show what my AQA Additional Paper Analysis Tool looks like when populated. the tool will collate the 'mock' results and using the actual grade boundaries will give a grade for a) the whole paper, b) individual grades for the Biology, Chemistry and Physics aspects and c) will show the levels of progress the student has made. This has been invaluable as a monitoring and intervention tool to target individuals and classes that are falling behind. The actual sheet can be purchased from my page.

This easy chart will allow you to assess the risks with your practical and use the advice on the chart to plan accordingly. Useful for all staff who teach science and who need to show how they have assessed the risk.

If you get lists in different name formats - Joe Bloggs or Bloggs, Joe or Joe in one column and Bloggs in another column... and its sends you out of your mind as you want them all in the same format, then this little tool will do it for you. Copy the list of manes in the format you don't want and use the tool to split or merge the names to your preferred format and then re-paste the list. Dead easy and will save you tons of time not to mention your sanity.

Bespoke resource that was originally written as a science project based curriculum for year 7. It could be used in primary for a project based activity that should take at least 10 hours to complete. It covers ecology, food chains, fossils, predator prey relationships. classification and adaptations of animals for survival. Lesson plans, PowerPoints, & worksheets are all included. There are some simple practicals (like making a fossil included). My pupils loved this project.
