This is a handy resource to prepare students for the second written task for component 3- the skills log. The ppt features a skills log canvas slide that can be printed A3 for students to write bulletpoints on each area of the written task, a PIE themed structure tutorial, and has a paddy mcguiness themed peer assessment task.

This resource is for the beginning of the second phase of the Component 3 exam. I wanted to get my students thinking about different methods/techniques they could use to create more material-something that they will need to write about in their SKILLS LOG which will come in a few weeks time. The lesson encourages groups to try 2 out of the 4 suggested techniques for coming up with choreography/creating. This could EASILY be changed to 4 drama techniques/musical theatre techniques or even production techniques if needed . The ppt includes a creation canvas slide that i have printed out A3 for my students to. track their ideas/findings on. The resource also comes with a personal management SKILLS log that i am going to get them to fill out quickly each lesson- this will track their progress/contributions to the process which again they will need to write about in their SKILLS LOG.

This SOW was created to meet the COVID safety guidelines whilst we teach Dance in a classroom. The entire SOW is adapted so students are doing practical work at a desk throughout. Our y7 students have loved this BUT could easily be used for other ks3 year groups too! We used the Spinners and Dice available from YPO as resources to accompany this although this could easily work with a home made spinner or coloured sticks etc. This comes complete with a knowledge organiser, DO NOW task sheets and a full Dance Vocabulary Quiz for students to be tested on their knowledge. It also comes with a bingo grid for students to track progress and for teachers to mark. The booklet attached is for Performing arts so only the DANCE section (the first few pages is used)

This resource is designed to be the first lesson of an introduction to the theory element of the BTEC TECH award. It includes Information about the possible rough written weighting for each component. Information about assignment briefs Information about Plagiarism and deadlines. Information about useful writing structures to help add detail to written work. Mini assignment brief task for students to complete- this is linked to a professional work and allows them to get used to meeting a quick deadline, researching and creating their work. Peer assessment task- grading their partner’s work using the criteria.

This is part one of a CATS production route booklet that i have made for students studying the BTEC TECH route. The booklet features introductions, space for students to complete moodboard tasks and face plans to complete initial designs and make final choices for their work. There is also a section for them to research techniques etc and include photos of their attempts. This has suited some of my weakest students really well.

This bundle includes PPTs for all of the 5 Soldiers workshop lessons that I deliver. There are links to the live feed on youtube with appropriate timings so that students can watch the section. There are teacher links to material to learn for delivery in the workshops and there are also slides that can be printed to aid the activities and tasks. Each task has a progress and progress+ task criteria which helps to drive challenge.

This Rosas Danst Rosas bundle includes ppt resources and sheets needed for an engaging set of practical and theory based lessons. This has worked wonderfully for our KS4 BTEC students during the COVID restrictions and is perfect for social distancing. It could however be a really fantastic SOW for KS3. A ppt to launch the 2020 BTEC TECH Component 3 theme with grade breakdowns, top tips and some practical examples and helpful ideas to get started. The ppt also features a breakdown of overall grades so students can understand the importance of component 3 to their overall grade.

This resource features a planning sheet and an accompanying ppt to prepare students for the Component 3 Ideas Log exam. The ppt talks students through a PIE structure to enhance the detail in student responses and features a fun peer assessment feature. The planning sheet also includes a structured page for students to add their bulletpoints to in preparation for the exam.

This bundle is a set of resources for students in y8/9 this worked well when in classrooms during COVID and also when doing remote learning it includes Lesson 1- Stylistic Features analysis- students learn how to analyse RADS of a professional piece of Dance using a structured writing frame. Lesson 2- Dance skills- Students learn about physical and expressive skills and are asked to evaluate performance using correct terminology and writing structure. . Lesson 3- Students learn about the types of stimuli that can be used to create a dance and write their ideas using a writing structure Lesson 4- Students are given a brief and asked to write about their ideas for a themed piece from stimulus. This resource is made predominantly for KS4 students who need to develop the skill of creating choreography from a stimulus for their Component 3 external exam. This resource has been used most successfully with our current y8/9 students. It is a SOW at desks so classroom based but with fun activities for students to take part it with some movement at desks in some tasks. Lesson 2- Dance skills Lesson 3- Types of Stimuli Lesson 4- Responding to a brief Lesson 5- Interactive Quiz Lessons can be split as there is a lot of content, lesson 3 and 4 inparticular you could spread across 2 lessons each making a longer SOW The bundle also features a knowledge organiser that students can use for home learning and there is a DO NOW task students can complete in books at the start of each lesson. This is a handy rehearsal pack i have given to students, it features some of the choreographic devices cards which give them ideas/starting points/techniques to create movement and explores motif development through ASDR, it also includes a rehearsal schedule, personal management checklist and meeting log for them to track their progress.
