I am a Head of Modern Foreign languages in a multicultural secondary school situated in London. I have been teaching for 6 years and I really enjoy my job! In the resources I create I always try to differentiate each activity to ensure I provide for all students' needs in order for them to have the support to thrive but also feel challenged.

This unit of work includes: French greetings, the alphabet, days of the week, months of the year, birthday, talking about your age, classroom equipment and classroom facilities. There is also a dialogue for them to create. The resources are all differentiated. Lesson 15 is a revision lesson in preparation of assessment. Lessons are interactive and fun and there is a fair amount of pair and group work. Ideal to introduce beginner year 7 to French as well as to work out the level of those who have learnt French in Primary school.

This unit of work comprises a wide range of lessons on the topic of holiday. They were all planned with the new GCSE in mind. The speaking part covers preparation for the role-play assessment, the writing activities have the 3 tenses in them. Lesson 3 GCSE holiday reading have exercises from expo3 Rouge. Starter activity have typical new GCSE translation or a picture to get the students used to describing a picture (new GCSE requirement). All activities are differentiated. The lesson entitled "holiday mystere" is a group work detective lesson which my students really enjoyed doing!

This unit of work focuses on the topic of pocket money and new technologies. The main skills used in it are listening and speaking skills. There is material to complete and peer-assess a dialogue. However, there is also material to get the students to produce a long paragraph using the three tenses (past, present and future). All lessons are differentiated according to abilities with each task having support and challenge.

New GCSE Unit of work on World Issues

This unit of work focuses on World issues, solutions to World issues, the environment and a comparison between French and British schools. It is aimed at developing speaking and listening skills. Speaking tasks include role-plays and description of pictures, which can easily lead to free flowing conversations (part of the new GCSE). However, there is material to do reading and writing. Lesson 8 goes through a French song called "L'hymne de nos Campagnes" to add a cultural element to the unit, along with lesson 11 that deals with French schools and the French system. Resource 11 goes with lesson 8 and resource 12 is an improvement prompt you can use when peer-assessing speaking and teacher assessing as well, which will leave a trace of the work done in class in the books.
