I have been working with young people for almost 10 years now and have been working in education for 4 years. My roles over the years have varied from volunteer team leader, outdoor instructor and welfare manager until I finally qualified as a drama teacher. I believe that in terms of my teaching my strength lies in my subject knowledge and organisation. This in turns allows me to plan engaging and challenging lessons, which in turn allows for good classroom management. As well as my classroom practice I am keen to be involved in extra-curricular activities, not just within the department but across the school. I am particularly interested in getting involved in outdoor education and indeed I have experience of leading groups in the outdoors. My career aim is to move up through the school in the pastoral system through Head of Year and eventually to become a Safeguarding Lead or SENco.
