This worksheet helps children work out fractions of a number by sharing. A detailed explanation and examples are given, in both written and visual forms, to help children understand the concept. Activity 1: Find 1/2, 1/3 or 1/4 of these numbers. Blank rectangles are provided for children to colour in. You can find the answer by dividing or sharing the squares. You can use cubes to help you count and share. The first one has been started for you. Activity 2: children find a fraction of a number using a similar method to that given in the main body of the worksheet.
