Year 1 Maths Addition and Subtraction Maths Planning. Based on Year 1 Curriculum Prioritisation and NCETM Professional Development material. This is based on Unit 6 Additive Structures. In this unit, children will explore: Aggregation and partitioning problems (combining and splitting) Augmentation and reduction problems (adding more and taking away) Addition and subtraction word problems Inverse operations (addition and subtraction) There are opportunities for both worksheet and practical activities. This unit of work is based on NCETM Curriculum Prioritisation document. This unit will look at 2D and 3D shape. They will look at using block shapes to fill out and create images, use tangram images and use real 2D and 3D shapes to explore their properties. *Not all worksheets/activities are included as they were downloaded from websites below. Children will explore numbers to 5 and have a chance to master them and how they can be represented and partitioned. They will also look at finding one more and one less. They will explore odd and even number as well as how they are composed. Composition of number is explored thoroughly though this unit. Suggested activities are placed in the powerpoints and tasked I have used previously with a year 1 class have been included in publisher format.
