I recently published a children’s book series called Adventures with Gedo. -It follows and includes all the KS2 Years 3 -4 NC English Writing and Reading objectives -It takes the reader on a journey through the desert where they learn about the Bedouin culture and how they used to travel. -It compares the past and the present, looking at how people traveled in the past compared to the present. The book comes with digital activities which can be used in Guided Reading lessons.

This resource is based on the NC objectives for English. (Year 3 -4) TASK 1 - Using conjunctions in a sentence TASK 2 - Using singular and plural possessive apostrophes TASK 3 - Using a prefix to create a word TASK 4 - Using a suffix to create a word TASK 5 - Circling the correct homophone TASK 6 - Accurately able to spell the Year 3 and 4 Exception words TASK 7 - Editing a short paragraph by making improvements to it This can be used as a formal/informal form of assessment to assess where children are based on the above grammar objectives. The results can be used to inform future English planning and/or to target specific children.

Each text includes a wide range of language features that are part of the NC English Writing Objectives. These texts can be used in Guided Reading lessons or as example texts for writing units.
