This is a Powerpoint presentation of 11 slides and is no.06 in a series of 60-minute lessons used by me to tutor a GCSE student via Zoom. The focus of each lesson is grammatical, rather than topic specific, and as such they can be slotted into topic work as required. In addition, each lesson attempts to extend the use of German to match the requirements of GCSE Higher Tier.

This presentation explains and practises which prepositions are always followed by the Accusative case, which by the Dative case and which can be followed by either. Slide 4 contains a mnemonic for Accusative prepositions, while slide 7 contains a song for remembering Dative prepositions, following the tune ‘Little, Little, Little Star’! Along with grammatical explanations there are also gap-fills and translation exercises.
