This Lesson covers AQA Wolinski and Coates (Book 2) content of Analysing the Competitive Environment and is based heavily on this specification.
Lesson covers an introduction to market structures which I think helps to embed understanding of markets in general. The Video explores the different market structures, a useful starting point to get students to understand the basic premise of a market and key factors of competition and characteristics of the market, which all affect the degree of competition within the market.
The main focus on the lesson is on each force of P5F’s which is supported at the start by a Tutor2u revision video on the model. Presentation offers notable points that are concise, a lot of reference to the core text book, as it has relevant case examples and fact files on Pg 170-171. This is punctuated by student activities include Case studies/ articles, Worksheet, opportunities for paired discussion and to ask student questions during the presentation.
