6. Multiplication and Division (2): multiply 2-digits by 1-digit lesson pack (Y4)

This ready-to-use, top quality set of resources allows teachers to easily teach the Year 4 Maths topic of multiply 2-digits by 1-digit to a mixed ability class.
This lesson links well with White Rose Maths – Multiplication and Division (Spring Block). It forms part of a series of lessons on multiplication and division which include coverage of the objectives:
• Recall and use multiplication and division facts for multiplication tables up to 12 x 12
• Use place value, known and derived facts to multiply and divide mentally, including: multiplying by 0 and 1; dividing by 1; multiplying together three numbers
• Recognise and use factor pairs and commutativity in mental calculations
• Multiply two and three digit numbers by a one digit number using formal written layout
• Solve problems involving multiplying and adding, including using the distributive law to multiply two digit numbers by one digit, integer scaling problems and harder correspondence problems such as n objects are connected to m objects.
