Here is a series of lessons that I wrote whilst I was training for teaching A-level chemistry.
The lesson objectives for the lessons include:
Lesson 1-Ligand substitution reactions
Deduce expressions for Kstab of ligand substitutions and understand that a large Kstab results in the formation of a stable complexion
Use and understand the term stability constant.
Define a ligand substitution reaction and describe some examples.
Lesson 2-Redox titrations
Carry our a redox titration to accurately determine the percentage iron in iron tablets.
Carry out structured calculations using MnO4-
Describe redox behaviours in transition elements using suitable examples
Lesson 3-Redox titrations continued.
Perform unstructured calculations based on experimental results
Carry out structured calculations using MnO4-
Understand how to carry out redox titrations and carry out structured calculations involving MnO4- and I2/S2O32-
The lessons were carried out in conjunction with using the textbook OCR Chemistry A2 by Dave Gent and Rob Ritchie issued by Heinemann.
