An address practice set for KS4 and post-16 SEND learners, built on the UK address format: name, flat or house, street, town and postcode on its own line. It covers flats, a house name, business addresses, two envelopes to check and a GP registration form.

Why I made this
Every form a school leaver fills in asks for an address, and a surprising number of learners cannot write their own from memory, or put the postcode in the town box. UK addresses always go in the same order, and once that clicks the rest is practice. This set uses flats, house names and a business address, because those are the ones that trip people up.

What’s included

  • Teacher page with a short note on the UK details
    • Words to know: 10 key words with pictures (address, postcode, street, town or city, flat, house name, envelope, stamp, return address, form)
    • 3 practice documents: a page of UK addresses, two envelopes (one right, one with three mistakes), and a filled-in GP registration form
    • 12 Level A questions with pictures and three choices
    • The same 12 questions at Level B, with open answers and room to show working
    • A real-life task: address an envelope, fill in your own address, then write it again from memory
    • Answer key that shows where to find every answer

Two levels, same questions
Level A suits learners who need visual support and choices. Level B suits learners ready to write and show working. Because the questions match, the whole group can work from the same documents and go through the answers together.

How I use it
Start by getting every learner to say their own address out loud in the right order, then write it. The envelope with mistakes works well on the board. Part 3 of the task, writing it from memory, is the one worth repeating every week until it sticks, because it comes up on every job, college and GP form.

Who it is for
KS4, sixth form, FE college and post-16 SEND groups, learners on SEN Support, and supported internship or independent living programmes.

Please note
All names, addresses and postcodes are made up. Some learners should not share their home address; Part 2 can use the college address instead.

What you download: one printable PDF, A4, answer key included. Licence: single teacher or setting.
