Algebra - solving linear equations.

A revision poster on Algebra – solving linear equation summarising the key-points on;

• Algebraic terminology to include inverse operation, solution/root, equation, LHS, RHS, verification.
• worked examples - basic, with constants on both sides, with variables on both sides, with variables and/or constants and with brackets.

My students stick this revision poster/chart into their exercise book at the start or end of the chapter content delivery. In mathematics I use the revision poster to get students to understand why using this math skill is important in the real world, the definitions of terminology and I give students worked examples (step – by – step). The resource size is perfect for printing off, illuminating, and putting into students’ journals. If I have students struggling with some of the basic content of algebra, I ask them to take this poster out and we revisit the examples.
