This is a great time saver for you! These papers take hours to organise. This 17 page practice paper has been designed in the style of AQA Examination Board. The front cover breaks down each question for you and it has a stationery list (reminding your students what they will actually need on the day) along with instructions and information about the paper.
Section A is about designing a flat-pack charity collection box. Students are asked to list functions and name suitable materials for the boxes. They are given a short specification and asked to sketch a design for the box (a list is given on where they will gain the marks for this section).
Section B is about materials, sustainability and product maintenance: choosing appropriate main materials and their source, explaining material properties, product maintenance symbols and designed obsolescence.
Question 3 is about packaging and labelling: packaging functions and material selection, packaging symbols and barcodes.
Question 4 is about manufacturing products: batch production, manufacturing processes, manufacturing aids, tools & equipment and health and safety.
Question 5 is about manufacturing products in mass production using modern technologies where quality of written communication is required.
A COMPLETED ANSWER BOOKLET IS ON ITS WAY SO KEEP CHECKING FOR THIS RESOURCE...

This practice paper is fantastic! It is presented well and the lay out is designed just like an AQA paper. The questions in section A relate to the charity collection box context and the others cover a range of product design knowledge. I have completed this paper with my two classes and already my students have covered items that they didn't know. I WILL BE BUYING THE ANSWER BOOKLET which I notice has just been put onto TES. THANK YOU SO MUCH for putting your resources onto TES. I will be looking for more of your work in the future.
