Having relocated to a school where I now teach the AS to A2 EDUQAS course as opposed to the two-year linear course, this is the first in a new series of lessons that serve to divide knowledge needed in Year 12 from that in Year 13. This Ten lesson resource serves to be taught either to students in the final weeks before the Summer holiday after they return from AS exams or can be taught at the start of Year 13. The main intention of this Unit of work is to make students confident with regards to the new theories whilst applying them to texts they have already studied.

This lesson contains:

-Breakdown of the new Component 1 and 2 papers and highlighting of key words task
-Mini starter ssessment of the 9 theorists from AS
-A visual resource for students books on all of the new forms and theories to be studied in year 13. This also includes ideal timings for each paper/sections of the exam.
-Each of the new 10 theorists broken down with a revision flash card task attached for H/W. The theorists then have attached to these tasks base don the AS forms.
-A peer assessment challenge whereby students are supported to mark their own 30 marker response that they sat for H/W based on the Mastery sheet.
-4 three-part H/W tasks (each should take between 90 mins-2 hours.
-Two Mastery sheets; one on Assassins Creed Liberation:III Industry and one on ‘WaterAid and an Unseen’ Representation.

NOTE: I am following EDUQAS Teaching Model 1 in my teaching/ SOW and my school is only providing Media Studies at A-Level, as a Two- Year Course. Moreover, each lesson has a task whereby students RAG (Red, Amber, Green) what they have learnt in the lesson against an Examiner checklist (Differentiation, peer assessment).

If you liked this resource and found it useful, it would be greatly appreciated if you could feedback or rate my resource as I am constantly trying to adapt and refine my resources to improve the learning of my students. Many thanks.
