This Barbados Activity Pack supports KS1 Geography learning through colouring, discussion, reading, and map skills and is differentiated.
Page 1 is a detailed colouring sheet featuring items linked to the island of Barbados, including fruits, animals, buildings, and transport such as a monkey, coconut, lizard, boat, and more.
In the centre is an outline map of Barbados with simple landmarks like the museum, lighthouse, capital (Bridgetown), windmill, flag, and airport.
Children can explore the sheet as a class, then colour by category — for example all the fruits or all the animals — or colour the whole scene.
Page 2 includes two versions of comprehension questions: an easier set with prompts such as “Where might people stay on holiday?”, and a slightly harder set asking children, for example, to think about what information can be found using a map of Barbados.
Children can write their answers or share them verbally for a speaking and listening task.
The pack also includes two word-search worksheets with answer sheets.
The first is a simpler activity with symbols and words to help children find items like fish, sun, crab, and ship before tracing the words and colouring the pictures.
The second word-search features longer or more challenging words such as Bridgetown, airport, museum, and windmill; children then write the words under the matching pictures and colour them in.
This resource links to Geography and History, Holidays, and Beach themes while supporting reading, comprehension, phonics, discussion and writing.
