This resource has been designed for the BTEC level 2 student in mind, although it could be adapted for GCSE students.
The resource focuses on the start-up costs for a cinema (featured film IT by Stephen King) is pictured on the slides. Learners have to identify as a starter activity, what are the start-up costs for a cinema and then what are the operating costs. The answers are revealed on the next slide.
The PowerPoint then progresses onto Fixed costs and variable costs of a cinema, and learners have to define fixed and variable costs and give examples. Learners have been given the formula for how to work out total costs, and this is given as an activity on the worksheet by BTEC.
Worksheets included and answer sheet.
