A well designed and fully resourced lesson introducing Topic 4 of the Cambridge AS Level.

Begins with students analysing information sheets to gain an understanding of China in the early 1900s and think about what factors have influenced change.

Next students use a Khan Academy video to build a timeline overview of the course.

Students then research two key individuals in Sun Yat-sen and Yuan Shikai.

There is an opportunity for class discussion before a final tasks in which students extend their knowledge by evaluating the role of China in WWI and the impact of this.

Enjoy!
