I have used this resource to help with transition from concrete to written calculations. The emphasis is on the process and not the recording. It also helps children who battle to bridge 10. It relies heavily on using practical resources. It reinforces accurate 1:1 correspondence and my year 1's thought it was fun. By the end of 10 minutes they had worked in pairs to complete them all, Huge improvement from 4 straight maths calculations.
