CVC Missing Initial Sounds ~ 5 Phonics Worksheets for Initial/Beginning Sounds

Hi there, this is a set of 5 simple CVC worksheets focusing on identifying the initial sounds in words. I’ve tried to keep the worksheets straightforward, colourful, with clear pictures that are easy to interpret.
They’re suitable for independent work, small groups, phonics interventions or just a bit of extra practice for children who need it.

Each sheet contains 9 pictures with the first letter missing from the word underneath. Children say the word, listen for the initial sound and write the missing letter.
