Dance Scheme of Work

This resource offers a series of dance lessons for Reception through to Year 7. All units of work come with easy to follow lesson plans, colour pictures to enhance understanding, a glossary of dance terms, flash cards and suggestions for suitable music. Recption theme is colours which involves a story about butterflies. Year 1 is based on the book Farmer Duck and involves lots of the jobs Farmer Duck has to do. Year 2 is based on the book Penguin Small and follows the journey the penguin makes. Year 3 is about numbers and creating sums with the body. Year 4 is all about different types of weather. Year 5 links to history and Victorians. Year 6 is about different sports and year 7 is about football. Most of the units of work can be interchanged across year groups. This resource will give non specialists confidence to deliver high quality dance lessons.
