This is a fun matching monkey themed activity on the power rule for finding derivatives. Students are given 15 functions - polynomials in standard and factored form, rational functions, involving radicals, negative and rational exponents. The problems are with increasing difficulty level. In most of the problems, students have to apply the properties of exponents first and then to use the power rule for finding the first derivative. There are given three tables containing the answers of the problems. Students are instructed to match each problem with its answer by dragging and dropping the number of the problem in the empty cell that is across from the cell of the corresponding answer.
Student recording sheet and answer keys are provided.
