This is an engaging practice on derivatives of exponential functions, tangent and normal lines to the graph of an exponential function at a given point. Students are given three tasks as each task contains four composite exponential functions (the chain rule is required!). The first task is finding the first derivative of each of the given functions and the equation to the tangent line to the graph of each function at the point where x equals a given value. The second task is finding the derivatives of the given functions and the equation to the normal line to the graph of each function at the point where x equals a given value. And the third task is finding all points on the graph of each function f(x) at which there is a horizontal tangent line.

This product can be used as independent/extra practice or group activity (for groups of 2 or 3), as a quiz and homework assignment.
