Worksheet targeted at GCSE Further Maths pupils for differentiating polynomials. Should also be suitable as an introductory exercise for Year 12 pupils.

Both dy/dx and f(x) notation are used to get pupils used to using each of them. Pupils will need to use index laws, and expanding brackets to complete the exercise.

Problem solving questions involving factorising quadratics and simultaneous equations will make your hardest working pupils think.
