These slides are designed to introduce students to the IB DP Visual Arts course in a way that is clear, engaging, and interactive. Instead of a long lecture, each slide breaks down one of the three assessment tasks into simple, student-friendly language. After every explanation, there is a short activity encouraging students to experiment, discuss, and reflect. This ensures that by the end of the session, students not only know what the tasks are, but they also get a real taste of the IB way of learning: inquiry, connection, and curation.
The slides highlight the differences between SL and HL, clarify the weightings, and connect expectations to real practice. Students leave the session with a strong understanding of how they’ll be assessed, what success looks like, and how their creative journey will unfold over the two years.
