These are 8 challenging quiz problems on writing equations of parallel and perpendicular lines. On each slide students are given two problems and six answer choices (which are movable pieces) in a box. Students solve a problem and drag and drop the answer they have chosen to the empty answer box of the problem. The problems increase in difficulty.
The first and second problems are writing the equation for the line that is parallel/perpendicular to a given line and passes through a given point. The third and fourth problems are writing the equation of the line with given y-intercept and parallel/perpendicular to a given line. The fifth and sixth problems are writing the equation of the line through a given point and parallel/perpendicular to the line that passes through two given points. The seventh problem (the most challenging) is determining the equation for the altitude from one of the vertices of a triangle with given coordinates of its vertices. The eight problem is determining whether two lines AC and BD are parallel, perpendicular or neither where the coordinates of points A,B,C and D are given.
