I devised this PowerPoint to be used to prepare students for an old style evaluative assessed practical for OCR and have recently re-discovered it. This can be used to help students develop their problem solving skills and use their knowledge of organic synthesis - something quite important on the new A-Level specifications.
The task involves students attempting to identify two esters (in theory-not practically) by working out the products of hydrolysis and what other reactions those products can undergo. There should be some sound effects built in too for laughs!!
