This activity fits into a unit on climate change. Students often do not get a chance to explore differing opinions of climate change. In this activity, students will read an article (of their own choosing!) that explains alternative viewpoints on the climate change debate (website provided). Specifically, students will read, summarize, and write about what they've read. Additionally, they will defend or refute what they've read and formulate and communicate their own personal viewpoints and provide evidence to support their opinions.

Objectives include:
1) Articulate personal reaction to article, citing specific evidence to support

2) Communicate, evaluate, and justify their own views on climate change (NAAEE 3.2 A)

3) Express ideas clearly with appropriate grammar, punctuation and spelling

This activity is written for grades 9-12 (could be adapted for younger students)

Includes rubric.
