A worksheet aimed at Years 10 and 11 students (although this can be used at A level to revise tense usage) which tests students’ knowledge of the tenses. It is structured as follows:

  1. Students have to conjugate verbs in the imperfect and then, from a list of uses for the Imperfect, decide which one fits the sentence best.
  2. Students do the same as the above, but with the preterite.
  3. The same as the above, but with the pluperfect.
  4. Students translate a set of sentences and think about the different contexts their tenses imply.
  5. Students finish sentences (si clauses) based on what tense should follow.
  6. Students translate sentences to English from French to test their knowledge of depuis, pendant and pour.
