GERMAN SPEAKING PRACTICE 100 QUESTION AND ANSWER PROMPTS CARDS WITH A GRAMMAR FOCUS ON SEPARABLE VERBS IN THE PERFECT TENSE
These prompt cards are really popular with my students, and they use them not only for speaking practice, but also for multi-skill language learning. They have structured talk opportunities, and are also able to work on developing their listening, reading and writing skills. My students do tend to prefer working and learning independently, in pairs or in small groups learning, and perfect for pair and small-group work. The language and structures are generally those we meet in the more intermediate stages of our German learning, but it really does depend on the age at which your students began their German learning, and the stage they’re currently working at. The cards work best when we use them frequently, across a school year, or even learning phase - all my students enjoy going back to the start for a quick refresh, and it does wonders for their confidence.
The reference book includes all the questions and answers written out in full - we use this as a year-round reference resource too, and it’s useful for quick whole-group translation, vocab and grammar quizzes, which are a great way of revising and revisiting language and grammar in a more interactive and varied way. Students use the NOTES AND NEXT STEPS template to reflect on their learning, and think about what they might reasonably do to progress in their learning. The question and answer card template is really popular too - it allows students to use their German practically and creatively, again using a multi-skills approach, and they enjoy creating question and answer prompts. The cards are really versatile, and I’ve described several activities that work well for us. I always laminate my language learning cards, as they’re far more user-friendly, and last for absolutely years. The reference book is good to go - download, print out and photocopy in book format if possible.
