Build. Rotate. Think Like an Engineer!

Welcome to Hex’s Workshop on Robot Planet!

Every repair mission begins with one important job: organizing the workshop tool board. Each board contains the same 12 tools, but every mission requires a different layout. Can your students rebuild the official workshop designs — and invent brand-new ones of their own?

This printable puzzle combines spatial reasoning, visual perception, logic, and problem-solving in a fun STEM-inspired challenge that students will want to solve again and again.

Three Ways to Play

1. Independent Cut & Paste

Simply print the worksheet. Every page already includes a full-color example board and a guide grid that matches the puzzle pieces exactly. Students cut, rotate, and glue the pieces into place.

2. Reusable Puzzle Center

Print the black-and-white guide board and laminate the puzzle pieces. Students rebuild new layouts again and again without additional preparation. A great option for reducing color printing and creating a long-lasting classroom center.

3. Team Challenge

Use the large puzzle during partner work, math centers, STEM stations, or whole-class lessons. Students discuss strategies, explain their thinking, and solve each challenge together.
