This resource aims to help GCSE pupils prepare for speaking and writing assessments on the topic of hometown and area. Pupils could work independently to develop answers, using the questions to practise answers in groups. It includes:
• a crib sheet with a list of questions and suggested answers using a variety of grammatical structures in a range of tenses with higher level structures in red.
• a colour-coded mind map. Pupils can choose, develop and personalise answers from the mind map which follows the phrases on the crib sheet.
• blank colour-coded mind map. Pupils can create their own mind map which can be printed out for revising. Mind maps allow students to revise in a visual and stimulating way and break down answers into manageable chunks.
• five short translation passages French – English with answers to allow students to practise their answers and improve their translation skills.
