A Powerpoint lesson addressing why students feel they need to use Google Translate, the issues with Google Translate, and some tips to avoid using it by using websites such as WordReference or online dictionaries.
The lesson includes a starter activity, translation activities, and some examples of student work where students have used Google Translate and have not always made sense. These activities aim to pick up on some common student errors, such as translating word for word without considering individual word meanings in different contexts. Useful for GCSE and / or A-level.
