A simple PowerPoint presentation that begins by asking students to brainstorm possible causes for conflict, eg. territory, resources. The teacher then debriefs student findings as a class and introduces the concept of escalating conflict intensity. Students engage in some brief notemaking about conflict intensity and the elements of conflict. The lesson concludes with students completing a conflict analysis data sheet for the current conflict of their choice.
