In this resource, there are two activities that require the student to form a word by cracking a code. A sound is revealed at a time, so the child can guess the word as they progress if they wish! To find a sound, the student has to identify a particular sound in a specified word represented by an image. An example of this is, what is the 3rd sound in the word short. This word can be broken into 3 sounds (sh-or-t). The identified sound would therefore by ‘t’.
This task is designed to work on sound manipulation and oral segmentation.
