A lesson where pupils assess the impact of the purchase of Wrexham AFC by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney on Wrexham.

Pupils will access a carousel of resources, each sharing a different perspective of how the club’s takeover has impacted them, with a focus on globalisation and the impacts of globalisation and global attention on a small city.

This can be used as a stand alone lesson, maybe at Christmas, or as a lesson as part of a scheme of lessons on globalisation.

Starter activity on the powerpoint and pupils complete the table while reading and discussing the 8 resources around the room. Pupils will complete a worksheet with tasks of increasing skill level, starting with a table of oros and cons and ending in an evaluation of the impacts by answering the big question: is globalisation good for Wrexham?

All resources are ready for printing and are fully referenced and up to date information November 2023.
