  • Full KPI lists of fundamentals in maths at the start and end of the year.
  • Suggested activities to support teachers and TAs in completing these assessments.
These support teachers to quickly identify gaps in learning and give specific intervention targets for pupils.

This is an assessment system that I created for my school 3 years ago for KS1 and it has made a huge difference to our interventions.
The editable objectives selected for assessment are fundamental maths skills that the children need in order to show that they are on track with maths. These can be used in conjunction with other assessment methods such as end-of-unit tests.
For each year group, there is a set of KPIs that the children can be assessed with at the start of the academic year to highlight any weaker areas from the previous academic year. By spotting these areas quickly, we have been able to create quick interventions and help pupils to make progress and be ready for the new academic year. Each year group also has a list of KPIs for children to try to achieve in the last part of the academic year.
