This lesson is designed to introduce a range of facial features in cartooning, when creating different expressions. Students will practice drawing eyes, mouths and noses in different positions, before applying their learning to create their own character.
The lesson consists of: a 'hook' or starter; objectives; visual drawing reference with differentiated learning outcomes; peer assessment; an annotation plenary and a: 'drawing the profile' extension with step by step sheet. This lesson is an ideal follow up to lessons that have practiced drawing faces shapes and a way to make drawing facial features more accessible to students of all abilities.
