This lesson teaches the topic of Treatment of Criminals. The pupils know and understand three forms of punishment. They will be able to explain religious attitudes to the treatment of criminals. They will be able to evaluate what effective punishment looks like.

This 50 minute lesson includes:

Religious Teaching Analysis.
Research Task. Use of Text books will be needed for this. This lesson might need to be adapted if you don’t stock the Bartlett, Fleming, Smith, and Worden textbooks - I have included some information sheets that you can use as alternatives if you like. You will just need to tweak slide 4.
Oracy Task.
Religious teaching analysis.
Explanation of key terminology that will be used throughout the topic.
Exam practice question - 5 marks.
Self Assessment.
