Based on a similarly titled TV show, split the class into groups each group acts as one of “The Lions”. The PowerPoint presentation begins with 5 different characters each pitching their ideas to “The Lions”.

Each group then has to discuss the different pitches and decide who they are going to invest in and how much they are going to invest. There are different percentages available for different amounts of money and “The Lions” can choose to invest in one character’s business, split the money between more than one pitch if they want, or even decide not to invest in anyone, but the aim is to make as much money as possible.

In the second half of the PowerPoint, the characters return after a years trading and reports on how well they have done.

Learners must then calculate how much money they have made or lost in total.

*This maths activity also embeds literacy. Learners can discuss persuasive language whilst making their decision.
