This is a full 1 hour lesson that introduces manufacturing and the multiplier effect to 11-14 year old students. The lesson is part of a unit on the Geography of China, though it could easily be adapted to other place based examples or a general lesson on the benefits of manufacturing. The lesson consists of 1 powerpoint and 4 worksheets including a differentiated resource - please see the sample images.

This lesson covers:

- Manufacturing
- The multiplier effect and reasons for China's rise
- Quality of Life
- Standard of Living

Learning Outcome 1 - 'I understand what manufacturing is'
Learning Outcome 2 - 'I understand how manufacturing has improved lives in the city.'

In the lesson we look at the favourable conditions that gave rise to mass manufacturing in China and the benefits that this has for a society, there's some really strong geography here. The lesson is designed to be visually appealing, with 'to the point' content that's easy to pick up and run with at short notice.

Ease of use is my aim so the lesson includes a full presentation with instructions and guidance in the notes section below each slide, it also includes fully labelled worksheets with printing instructions and is of course, proof read.

These lessons take hours to make so please take the time to leave a quick review.

Happy teaching!
