Needing a textiles/sewing project for your beginner sewers or arty students that they will actually want to use once they’ve completed it? Look no further than this Multipurpose Wrap!

This is a step-by-step tutorial with photos that you and your students can follow to create a simple yet elegant wrap style holder that can carry pens, pencils, paintbrushes, art tools, make-up brushes and so much more.

It is a great project for both male and female students because they can customise it with their own patterned fabric purchase or add their own fabric embellishments/designs if the school provides basic calico fabric for all students - and they get to determine its end use! While it is a simple project it does include a couple of fiddly sections like adding pocket dividers (requiring students to be neat and straight in their fabric marking), ribbon and turning the whole project through an opening in the lining.

This wrap can be a wonderful introductory practical task or end of term practical filler task for students who’ve finished their main project but need something else to carry them to the end of the term.
