This will help you create a Boggle-style game in your classroom for students to use when finished early with work, during transition time, centers, etc. With 'NOGGLE' children will use the numbers to create words number sentences.

With NOGGLE, you have numbers on display and children can make any sum possible as easy an hard as they can, you can encourage your students to find 2-digit numbers in the one-digit numbers. For example, if they see the numbers 2, 4, 1, 5, 3, and 9 connecting, they could write 24+15=39. This is built-in differentiation, because students who are struggling could still find the pattern 4+1=5 in that same number string, or 2+4-1=5 if they are a little more advanced. The rules are up to you, you could make the rule that the answer doesn’t have to be on display so they could use a 20 and a 2 and make the number 22-1=21 even if 21 isn’t on display.
