Non-standard units of measure classroom hunt

Two page worksheet both PDF and editable document for pupils to use around the classroom measuring various objects using their hands and feet. There are both word and pictorial descriptions for support.

Prior knowledge or part of input before this independent task includes

• Knowledge of estimating, what this is and the difference between this and actually using a measuring tool
• Teacher demonstration of estimating then measuring with hands/feet
• Understanding that hands and feet are not standard measurements because sizes vary from person to person, answers may vary i.e. teachers hand measurement of a table will differ from the pupils.
