OCR A Level Computer Science H446 revision for both written papers: 232 printable pages across two student booklets, with topic audits, clear notes, exam practice and answers. Designed for students preparing for H446/01 Computer Systems and H446/02 Algorithms and Programming, this set works for independent study, homework, intervention and classroom revision.
What you receive
Component 1 is an 84-page Computer Systems booklet covering 16 specification topics. Component 2 is a 148-page Algorithms and Programming booklet organised into 27 revision topics. Each booklet contains a green/amber/red knowledge audit linked to its topic pages, helping students identify gaps and plan their next revision session. Topic snapshots, key terms, diagrams, worked examples and common mistakes sit alongside original OCR-style questions with space to write answers. There is also answer and marking guidance for the topic questions and a separate 60-mark integrated practice paper for each component.
Component 1: Computer Systems
Topics include processor structure and the fetch-decode-execute cycle; processor types; input, output and storage; operating systems and applications; software development and programming languages; compression, encryption and hashing; databases, networks and web technologies; data representation and data structures; Boolean algebra; legislation; and the social and ethical impact of computing. Students practise calculations, circuits, SQL, code and written evaluation in an exam-style format. Worked examples and key terms help them revise before attempting the questions without notes.
Component 2: Algorithms and Programming
Topics include computational thinking; programming constructs and tracing; subroutines, parameters and scope; recursion; object-oriented programming; problem decomposition and abstraction; algorithm design and Big O; stacks, queues, linked lists and tree traversal; searching and sorting; and shortest-path algorithms including Dijkstra and A*. Students work through traces, pseudocode and explanations, then use the indicative answers to check their reasoning. The topic structure lets them move between a knowledge audit, focused notes, practice and marking without losing track of the area being revised.
How to use the set
Begin with red or amber items in a knowledge audit and read the matching explanation. Work through the example, then answer the original practice questions in the printed response spaces without looking at the notes. Mark the answer against the guidance and rewrite any weak explanation or calculation. Use the 60-mark paper as a timed rehearsal and review the gaps it exposes. Teachers can assign individual topics for intervention or use the booklets for a revision programme.
Format: Two printable A4 landscape PDFs (84 and 148 pages). Original OCR-style questions; independent resource aligned to H446, not an official OCR publication.
